Cape Town Furniture Week is a celebration of the city’s contemporary furniture design industry, and a platform to foster engagement, build community, and drive innovation. The third edition, taking place from 19 to 22 February 2025, will feature a programme of open showrooms and special exhibitions, product launches, talks and tours, social events, and the second year of the CTFW Awards. The programme takes place across over 25 venues in 4 different districts within Cape Town’s city centre, free to attend and open for the public to explore.
Cape Town Furniture Week is as much for the design community as it is for the general public. We invite you to explore the city, discover brands, meet designers, ask questions and find things that you like. At the core of Cape Town Furniture Week is the programme of open showrooms and special exhibitions, designed to be explored on foot. The programme kicks off with Opening Night on Wednesday 19 February from 5pm to 8pm, where all venues open their doors after hours. From Thursday to Saturday, showrooms and exhibitions are open to explore during the day, with an active programme of talks and factory tours scheduled as well. Navigate the 2024 programme to get a sense of the festival schedule, and browse through our exhibitor directory to discover some of the exhibiting brands and designers.
The programme features exhibitors ranging from emerging designers to established brands, with most from Cape Town and South Africa but a presence of international names as well. Many exhibitors use CTFW to show new products, create special displays, and launch collaborations. A large part of the programme includes exhibitors with their own showrooms, while other exhibitors host pop-up displays or showcase in collective exhibitions. All venues are located within four districts, including the Central City, De Waterkant, Kloof Street, and the East City. Browse exhibitors by district, and discover what each did for CTFW in 2024.
Participation in Cape Town Furniture Week is by invitation or application, open to independent designer-makers, emerging brands, as well as established brands from Southern African and the rest of the world. The selection process ensures that the programme remains curated, accessible in size, consistent in experience, and progressive in content. While the standard is high, participation remains accessible through tiered participation fees and collective exhibition opportunities. Please contact us for consideration in the 2025 edition.
