Wiid Design

Wiid Design is a furniture and product design studio based in Cape Town, South Africa. Their most recent work includes a collection of bespoke products that explore the tension between the natural and the man-made. The creative force behind the design studio is Laurie Wiid van Heerden, whose passion for materiality and craft, and commitment to collaboration and experimentation, has consistently positioned Wiid Design at the intersection of art and interior design.

For Cape Town Furniture Week 2024, Wiid Design is showcasing their new collection, comprising a foldable café table and two chairs that are designed for practicality, functionality and beauty. Fabricated from stainless steel and hand-glazed tiles, the foldable table design can also be displayed on a wall like a piece art. The studio is also exhibiting new Memphis lights and other signature pieces. They will also be hosting a tour of their Observatory studio on Thursday 15 February at 2pm (booking required).
